The Band

About Us

Spillover was formed in late 2019 when friends/coworkers Dan, Justin, and Spencer decided to start a band together. The band started off with the idea of a tongue in cheek concept "be the opposite of traditional punk values". Instead of standing against government and establishment they would be supportive, instead of wanting to maintain integrity they wanted to sell out, and above all, they like money.

Starting off writing lyrics and music in Justin's garage, songs started quickly coming together. Soon Liam was asked to join on drums, which would complete the lineup. Now a full band they started working hard on more material, but they needed a name. After tossing around ideas they settled on "Spillover".

During this time they played numerous shows in their home town of North Bay; including one notable performance at the Capital Centre, a hub of entertainment in the city. They also put on many live stream performances during the Covid-19 pandemic, as a way to reach people when live performances were practically non-existent. 

In the year 2022, they released a demo entitled "On Sale!", in sticking with their schtick. The demo was just that, a collection of demo tracks that were recorded as preparation for the full length, yet to be named debut album. This would allow the band to have a release that people could listen to, while the band kept hard at work on the album in secret.

Recording of their first full length album "Dollars & Sense" took place at Dan's home studio. The sessions were fun, long, tiring, and inspiring for the band. Hearing their music really come to life fueled them creatively in a whole new way.

Spillover released their debut album on September 23, 2023. They paired that with a show on the same day, at the granite club, in North bay, Ontario. They played to a packed venue full of excited fans, the event was a rousing success. 

Right now the band is making plans to play more shows this winter, as well as working on new material. They are excited to take their brand of fun, high energy punk rock, to your city!
